Inspection of crimping quality of F-type terminal in wire harness
Shenzhen Goowell is a custom-made manufacturer specializing in wiring harnesses.
We have a set of experience standards for the crimping quality inspection of F-type terminals commonly used in wiring harness production.
Follow the steps of the editor to find out!
Due to the characteristics of small contact resistance, firm connection and convenient maintenance, F-type terminals have been widely used in the wiring of locomotive electrical products, such as the wiring of pulse control lines of SS3B, SS7, and SS8 electric locomotives.
About the inspection of F-type terminal crimping:
The crimping quality of F-type terminals is mainly guaranteed by the crimping process.
The crimping quality can be judged by testing the pull-off force and observing the crimping section.
The test of the pull-off force can be sampled according to GB2828. In general, take: special Inspection level S-2, acceptable quality level (AQL) = 0.4.
The relationship curve between the crimping force Fp and the pull-off force F: when the crimping force is the best crimping force Fp0, the pull-off force F is the largest; when the crimping force is greater than Fp0, the pull-off force decreases accordingly.
Only when the measured pull-off force is greater than or equal to the minimum pull-off force, the crimping meets the requirements.
Correspondence between wire specifications and minimum pull-off force.
If the actual wire specifications are not in accordance with the attached table, it can be considered that the wire diameter between the two specifications is proportional to the pull-off force, and the standard value of the minimum pull-off force can be obtained by calculation. The calculation formula is:
In addition, the wires at the crimping part are deformed due to being squeezed by the crimping pliers. When the tensile strength test is performed, if the crimped wires are not deformed or broken, the crimping is unqualified.
Several Suggestions for Improving Connection Reliability
(1) When wiring, try to avoid the effect of external force on the crimping point.
(2) Appropriate insulating protective sleeves or heat shrinkable sleeves can protect the crimping parts. (3) When plugging and unplugging terminals, do not directly pull the wires. (4) Do not use terminals that have been sampled for pull-off force.
The crimping quality of F-type terminals depends on the crimping process control.
The detection methods and standards proposed in this paper are not only the qualification criteria for F-type terminals, but also have a certain reference effect for other crimping terminals similar to F-type terminals.
