Answer: I believe that wire harness is compatible with all Honda models from 2008 to the present. They work with 2015 Honda Civic LX 2015 models for sure.

What distinguishes this version from the Metra 70-1729 version?

The other end is male, while this one is female. Keep in mind that, unlike the female variant, the 70-1729 is not entirely inhabited. You will need to add pins to the male version if you use it with the OEM HU in order to preserve your steering wheel controls, CANBUS, etc. I used these to replace the factory-installed speakers, tweeters, external amplifier, and signal processor in my Honda Fit GK.

Perfect; exactly what I needed. The connector itself is composed of a material that is lightweight but still has a pretty solid-feeling quality, and all 24 pins are populated. I fail to understand how a rival product could be superior.

When I called Goowell technical support about their male reverse harness, the HA11RB, a competitor device, they made it clear that it is not fully populated.

As a result, I recommend this product because it lives up to its claims. I haven't actually used the competitor Scosche HA11RB, but even if I had, I couldn't imagine how it could possibly outperform this item (which it reportedly isn't!).

[EDIT] Although this product is excellent for the vehicles it fits, it sadly cannot be used with my vehicle, despite Metra's own website making this claim. My 2016 Accord Touring Sedan's 24-pin Connector A is a completely new connector with a very different latching mechanism. It comes with the factory head unit. My 24-pin connector and a Metra AX-DSP-HON2 that suits the Civics model years 2016 and above have a lot in common cosmetically. When that happens, I'll update this review in case it's useful to someone else.

Completely pinned, and easy to install Wires come with instructions and are standard-coded. 2015 Honda Pilot SE compatible.

With the SCOSCHE HA11B, you may install this item without cutting your factory wiring and do it in a neat manner. The 12V, GND, and ACC wires must be soldered together. To connect this to your line-out converter/signal processor, purchase some 9-conductor speed wire.
