In a Subaru or Nissan from 2007 and up, this adapter is used to attach an aftermarket head unit or stereo receiver. VSS and SWC pins are part of the harness. The Metra 70-7552 has been upgraded, and this is that version. To connect to this module, you must acquire an AXXESS ASWC-1 or comparable steering wheel interface module. Only the wires that connect to the steering wheel switches are included in this harness.

Does purchasing this mean I don't require the Aswc-1?

There is still a need for ASWC-1. The Metra and Scosche harnesses lack the wires necessary to connect to the ASWC-1, however, this harness does. If you use the AXXESS ASWC-1, you might wish to take into account this variation:

The OEM USB/AUX port is supported by this harness, right?

It doesn't, in response. The Aux will come from the head unit you're replacing, so it either has it in the back where you have to run it up or it's on the front where you can just plug it in. To maintain your original USB port, acquire the "PAC USB-SB1 OEM USB Port Retention Cable."
