Introduction

JST connectors generally refer to electrical connectors, that is, devices that connect two active devices to transmit current or signals. The product is widely used in aviation, aerospace, national defense and other military systems. These connectors are either similar to the design of the Japan Solderless Terminal or created from them.

Normal Types

With so many different types of connectors, it can be hard to keep up with all the latest trends. Below are some common device types.

1) JST ZH(1.5mm Pitch) Connector

It is one of the smallest pitch connector types, which means it can only be used in through-hole applications. This type is ideal for 3D printer related uses.

2) JST PH(2.0mm Pitch) connector

2.0mm pitch connectors are a popular choice for low-cost consumer electronics and parts, but are not particularly robust due to their lightweight construction mass. A similar dual-row version is available (PHD).

3) JST XH(2.54mm Pitch) Connector

This is a slightly larger version of the PH connector, except for the 2.5mm pitch and different contacts than most standard connectors, these are mostly found on low-cost consumer electronics. The series features a single-position header (insertion) and two receptacles at opposite ends, making up its bipolar design. The smaller version can be easily mounted on wires without being too bulky, while still offering complete flexibility when connecting things together.

4) JST PA/XA (2.0mm/2.5mm Pitch) Connector

This connector is lesser-known than its cousins, and the less common types fall into this category, usually only present when you're looking at consumer products like Japanese-brand LCD TVs. These products require excellent humidity performance and 95% impact level testing.

5) JST EH (2.5mm pitch) connector

EH connectors are a popular choice for products that require an inexpensive and slim current-carrying device. The 2mm pitch makes them slimmer than other connectors with similar functionality like the XH.

6) JST RCY (2.5mm pitch) connector

The RCY is a small two-position connector designed for wire connections, and it seems to be commonly found in battery packs of all sizes and shapes.

7) JST SH/SR(1.0mm Pitch) Connector

This range of connectors is the perfect solution for connecting various items to a laptop. You can find these inside the laptop. They come with wings that aid in disconnection, and the housings are available for "SH" or a combination of joints such as SR.

8) JST SHD (1.0mm pitch) connector

The 1.0mm double row pitch series is very similar to the SH/SR series, but with one extra row. This design makes it ideal for LCD/LVDS applications.

9) JST GH1.25mm pitch connector

The previous SHD 1.0mm was designed for surface mounting with one major difference: a positive locking mechanism and a completely different type of mating surface, providing a stronger connection between components than ever before on such a small board point.

10) JST VH(3.96mm Pitch) Connector

This type of connector is more likely to be found in high voltage or current connections. They are commonly used in power cords for Japanese appliances.

JST and Molex difference:

JST is a Japanese brand and MOLEX is made in the USA.

The biggest difference between the two should be the location of their head office.

Both JST and Molex connectors have factories in mainland China for quality control and competitive prices.
