Note:

1) This cable does not have two directions. Only HDMI sources connected to DisplayPort outputs are compatible. A DisplayPort source cannot be converted to an HDMI output.

2) This cable simply converts the HDMI signal to a DisplayPort signal; it is a bypass cable. The resolutions cannot be upscaled or downscaled. To get 4K out, you need to make sure the HDMI source is 3840X2160P@30Hz and your display supports 3840X2160P@30Hz as well.
