The new C-to Lightning cable model A2561 from Apple has just come onto the market and we're excited to see what changes they have made inside. Let's take it apart.

This Lightning cable is secured by a cardboard wrap.

The feeling you get when holding the cable is that it's very small after winding several turns.

The white plastic shell on both ends of the cable is in semi-circular arcs with a high gloss surface finish.

The disassembly of the cable is not much different from the last disassembly, dissection found that the positive and negative poles of the cable, USB data cable, and C to C cables are having the same manufacturing process, there is an insulated outer jacket of the positive and USB data cable with a copper core, CC cable with a winding structure.

Cut the data cable, and observe the cross-section. You can see five inner wire cores, two red wire cores for the positive power core, thin blue wire for the CC core, and white and green for the USB2.0 core.

The type C to Lightning Cable Apple cable A2561 is produced by Foxconn OEM, Lightning terminal is for the C91M terminal, USB-C male is a non-full PIN design, both ends of the cables’ internal small plate and core are injection molded processing, while the jacket is a steel jacket with spot welding, so the protection is very good. The outer jacket of the wire body is still made of biodegradable material, and the core is wrapped with shielding tinfoil and shielding mesh, mixed with tensile wire to increase strength.

Cut the outer skin of the cable, inside is a layer of winding shielding network. Below the shielding mesh is a layer of shielding aluminum foil. Inside the shielding, foil is the power core and data core, and also filled with tensile wire inside. The core is a rotating winding structure, which can better eliminate stress and make the cable more flexible.

Using a tester to detect that the cable terminal is C91M, the difference with the C94 terminal is that the small chip is changed from rectangular to square. Other than that, the layout of the circuit components is the same as the C94 terminal.
